About the Erasmus+ Project
PaFein+ is funded under the Erasmus+ Programme as a Cooperation Partnership in Higher Education. The project focuses on improving paediatric dental education by developing a structured, evidence-based and child-centred teaching model for pain-free dental treatment and injections.
The project addresses three major challenges in paediatric dentistry: dental anxiety, pain control and the need for minimally invasive treatment approaches. By integrating behaviour guidance, minimally invasive dentistry and modern local anaesthesia techniques, PaFein+ aims to support dental students, postgraduate students, educators and clinicians in providing more comfortable dental care for children.
Why Erasmus+?
Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships support international collaboration, the development of innovative practices, and the sharing of knowledge and experience at European level. PaFein+ reflects these goals by bringing together universities, professional associations and clinical institutions to create transferable educational resources for paediatric dentistry.
Through this partnership, the project promotes cooperation between higher education institutions and clinical experts, strengthens educational capacity, and contributes to the improvement of child-friendly dental care across Europe.
Project Objectives
The main objectives of the PaFein+ Erasmus+ Project are to:
- Develop an innovative curriculum for pain-free paediatric dental treatment
- Improve education in behaviour guidance and child communication
- Promote minimally invasive dentistry in children
- Teach modern and comfortable local anaesthesia techniques
- Support dental students, postgraduate students and educators with structured learning materials
- Encourage international cooperation and exchange of good practices

International Partnership
PaFein+ is carried out through an international collaboration between partners from Türkiye, Romania and Italy. This partnership allows the project team to combine academic knowledge, clinical experience and educational expertise from different European settings.
The collaboration supports the development of common educational materials, workshops, training activities and dissemination events designed to improve paediatric dental care.

The Erasmus+ activities of PaFein+ include:
- Transnational project meetings
- Curriculum development activities
- International workshops and seminars
- Hands-on clinical training sessions
